The recent COVID-19 pandemic and tragic death of George Floyd exemplifies how Black, Asian, and other minority ethnic populations (BAME) have, and continue to suffer under historical and systemic racism in regard to their mental health.

There has been talk about how patients are treated in public mental health facilities, and the consensus is... that it isn’t great. So, how do we go about changing that?

I had the opportunity to attend a training led by Amanda and Scott Kellog on Chairwork in Melbourne. The training was incredibly valuable in helping me refine my skills as a schema therapist. But what stood out to me the most was Amanda's discussion on social justice issues such as racism, sexism, fertility, and bodily autonomy.
