SchemXcollective

We are the SchemXcollective, a passionate community of therapists dedicated to exploring the impact and treatment possibilities for trauma caused by oppression and marginalisation.

We run training, provide supervision and consultation to deepen understanding of how Schema Therapy can be utilised to offer healing for those facing issues such as racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, fat phobia, misogyny and more.

Together let us embrace social justice through our commitment towards therapeutic progress!

Keira has been involved with the mental health initiative Livin for Hockey which works to spread awareness about the importance of mental health in sport and breaking down the stigma associated with asking for help. Mia believes that all individuals should have the opportunity to be heard, understood and supported in order to be their best selves and thrive.

“My hope is that I can translate the experiences I have gained working with the disability sector into work with other population groups. I dream of working in an environment where I can use both my Commerce and Psychology degree to make a strong impact and improve the lives of many individuals. I have always been fascinated with the idea of bias, specifically how they are learned and how we can teach individuals to un-learn them through education and prevention.”

Mia’s professional interests include working with Women’s’ Health, Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders and Eating Disorders.

  • Eliana Janakis

    Psychology Student Intern

Eliana (she/her) is a third year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) student who previously studied a Bachelor of Nursing (minor in mental health) and gained her registration with AHPRA in 2020. Her psychology philosophy involves having a passion, love, and affinity for the job.

“ I wanted to encompass myself in a career and a lifestyle as opposed to a job. I want to help change, influence and impact lives. The therapeutic relationship developed between consumer and physician truly is a privilege. It is my goal to advocate, protect and educate future clients. Psychology is a field that involves mathematics, law, science, and art; these are the reasons as to why psychology must be confronted from a holistic perspective, healing the mind, body, and soul from whatever cultural, religious and spiritual perspective the client requires.”

Her professional interests include eating disorders, psychosis, and young women’s health.
