Participants will have the opportunity to practice intergenerational trauma processing through role plays and receive supportive feedback and discussion. A live demonstration will also be included, offering a real-time example of the process in action.

You’ll learn practical skills to assess and explore the intergenerational origins of presenting issues, including:

  • Generational patterns of overachievement or perfectionism

  • A persistent sense of not belonging or feeling alienated in society

  • Deep anxiety, vulnerability, or fear of the future

  • Identification with oppressed groups and a profound sense of injustice

  • Substance use, disordered eating, or other addictions as coping strategies for emotional pain

Whether you are a seasoned therapist or a mental health professional seeking to deepen your practice, this workshop provides actionable strategies and insights to help you address and mend the hidden traumas carried through your clients' family histories.

We acknowledge the Gadigal people and the Kaurna people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded—this always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

As mental health practitioners, we honour the ongoing resilience, wisdom, and practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. We commit to learning from First Nations ways of healing, community, and connection.
